Membership
Membership
is limited to lawyers and economists specialised in competition law and
policy. Ascola currently brings together more than 150 members
from about 25 different countries. Members mostly come from Europe,
the U.S. and
Japan.
New members are accepted by recommendation by a regular member and upon
decision by the Executive Board. Independent scholarly writing in the field
is considered essential.
The current annual due is 100 €.
Ascola wants to promote membership of scholars from developing countries
and younger academics. For the latter, Ascola has introduced a junior
membership with full rights but mandatory reconsideration after five years.
In order
to facilitate membership of the two groups of persons in particular, Ascola offers a reduction of the dues according to personal income.
